This year American Idol 2012 is rockin’ with some ridiculous talent!!!

The unbelievable singer Joshua Ledet blows away any contestant past or present!  His incredible rendition of To Love Somebody was beautiful in every sense of the word!  AMAZING!

I continue to love the quirky, talented Philip Phillips with his odd spaz-like “dance” moves, his facial expressions, his charming smile and original arrangement of the old hits.  He brings the old music into this era and introduces the “greats” to the young, bringing new fans to old musical sensations!

And then there is Skylar Laine, the most rockin’ country chick to hit a stage EVER.  For a country girl to win me over as a fan speaks volumes about the original talent this girl has in her possession!  18 years old with the soul of a blues singer, this one will go far.  If she puts in half the work Carrie Underwood does, she will surpass the blond chick in leaps and bounds.

As far as Jessica Sanchez is concerned I will say the following:  she can sing technically sound and with lovely control.  Unfortunately, the girl brings no depth to her performances.  Even the growls she has begun to insert in her performances come across empty and fake.  Letting her do Proud Mary, knowing full well she would be compared to Tina Turner, only accomplishes what I have been saying all along…she’s too immature and has no substance to put into her songs.  The judges love her to pieces and make excuses for her failures by mentioning her young age 16.  Still, she is not what the music industry needs.  And I predict she will not be in the final 3.  Nor should she be.

And then there was Holly Cavanaugh.  While her performance last night was a huge improvement over the abysmal performances in the past, this girl needs to GO.  Right away.  She is stiff and unnatural and above all else…boring!!!  Let her go.

Bottom line:  I am SO jealous and envious of these beautiful voices.  If only I could sound one-quarter as good as they do, I’d be shakin’ it up on a stage somewhere myself!:)
