Yesterday

What an exciting day I had yesterday!

I woke up to a burning, pulsating PAIN in the middle of my back at 4AM.  Rolled out of bed, trying to catch my breath and make it down the stairs without falling.

Got to the kitchen and while making coffee the pain got worse.  This time it throbbed and burned, seemingly connected to my gag reflex because I became extremely nauseated, hot and dizzy.  My legs weakened and my head was spinning crazily…I laid down on the kitchen floor.

Athlon and Boo were curious…maybe even concerned.  They each took a side and licked the edges of my sweaty forehead where the hairline is.

Finally the nausea and dizziness abated.  I  got up from the floor, finished making the coffee and headed to the living room couch.

45 minutes later the pain abated.

Now I feel like I just put in 8 solid hours of hard manual labour.  Back is tender and sore but no longer pulsating or cutting off my breath.

I eventually make my way to work, where I have to bug everyone to find me some work to do.  Finally someone is found with a “project that will take a week”.  1.5 hours later, project done.  Are these people insane?

Fritter away a few hours until I am ready to scream.  I head on over to my team and start bugging them again.  One of the auditors realized that I am trained for more than just clerking, that the job I am doing is way beneath my “level of expertise” and gives me a real project that will take me a few hours.  Suddenly, the lightbulb moments happen for them all.  They have 2 months to use my knowledge to lighten their workload.  Duh.

My 3:30 my back is so sore I can barely hold myself upright.  I head home at 3:45.

Painful journey standing up in the train.  Walking much slower than I want to get to the house once off the train.

I lower myself gingerly onto the couch and promptly fall asleep until hubby gets home.

Disoriented and cranky I try to help make supper.

I give up.  Supper will have to come to me.

Hubby is relieved that I have stopped trying to help.

No rest for the weary, I have to clean up the kitchen as soon as we finish eating because the realtor is coming to show the house.

My back is aching again.

I am asleep before 10.  Wake up at 11:30 and head upstairs to bed, ever faithful Boo by my side. (more about Boo in upcoming posts)

I crawl into bed, upside down (head where my feet should be) so hubby can cuddle with my feet:)  Good thing I don’t have stinky feet LOL
