Adult ADD/ADHD: Being Happy by Being True to Yourself | ADDitude – ADHD & LD Adults and Children

I am compelled to repost this blog because the advice in it resembles more my own philosophy than any other “tip” article I have ever read on all of the ADD/ADHD sites.  Be yourself.  Accept who you are.  Nobody is good at everything they try to do, why do I, someone with ADD, have to spend so much time trying so hard to compensate for my own “shortcomings”.  The things I cannot do are only shortcomings in other people’s eyes, not my own.

Click on the link below to read the entire article from ADDitude magazine written by Edward Hallowell, M.D.

“If you look at individuals who are both successful and happy – whether they have ADD or not – you will find people who are flawed, compromised, and inept in certain areas, but who remain true to themselves. They know who they are, and they don’t try to be anyone else.”
